canoe has approx. the same basic dimensions as the Rushton "Wee
Lassie". See "Rushton and His Times In American Canoeing"
by Atwood Manley.
first experience in this size boat was at a Traditional Small Craft
Association meet at Mystic, Ct. George Kelly brought his beautifully
crafted "Wee Lassie"...at 18 lbs this was truly a work
of art. George said "go ahead and try it out."
me, thinking about the cold early June water, said "thanks
I guess not". At the following years meet, George repeated
the invitation and I weakened. To me it was a revolution, I just
couldn't believe how the boat handled. There was a relaxed stability
that totally surprised me and tracking like it was on a rail...what
a great little boat!
